It’s like how most philosophers want me to think being immortal is actually bad... no it isn’t. It’s immature to want it? Then I guess I’ll be childish FOREVER
I'd like to be immortal as long as I had the option of turning it off again at any time. Could you imagine living for 10000s of years, getting completely sick of existence, but being forced to stay on, having no out what so ever.

That's why when you're bored you go into torpor, hibernate for a couple hundred years, sleep through bad times like war, and then wake up to check out how things turned out, mixes things up a little.

See, why would you get sick of existence? If you devoted all your time EXCLUSIVELY to trying new food by the time you finished they would have invented a thousand new dishes in the time it took to finish the ones that existed when you started. That is just one example.
