South Korea is already prepping its basketball league to start up their season by the end of the month. They flattened the curve in their country through aggressive testing in under 3 months and now they can return to normalcy. We need to begin aggressive testing.

South Korea is a thriving democracy and its citizens take their health and their freedoms very seriously. Also, their gov't didn't spend crucial months lying to them. We need to do so much better because this cannot be our new normal.

South Korea has aggressively tested cases of COVID-19 and won praise for its handling of the pandemic. The country's basketball league now has games scheduled at the end of this month after a 4-week long hiatus. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/28911168/pro-basketball-reemerging-asia-amid-coronavirus-recovery …

I don’t understand this. Assuming the virus is still present in society with no vaccine ready, doesn’t reopening leagues/gatherings just open the gates for the virus to start spreading again? Back to square one. What am I missing?

When you flatten the curve any new cases are easier to treat and pinpoint thereby making another vast spread of the virus difficult. SK was testing 10,000ppl per day hence, why they were able to achieve this moment. They were extremely aggressive.
