"The sex trade becomes an example of the reworking of gender roles-commoditized feminine sexuality, predacious and exploitative masculine-that is produced by & sustains the political economy of conflict" Just read it on a paper of about . Wow!👏

Adding to my last tweet, its even stranger when the majority of refugees are from , a country which the EU wants to help ✨liberate and develop✨ since 2001 for benefit of the Afghan ppl, but does not seem to care about real Afghan persons seeking asylum (?)

Its very strange to think the has en entire department () devoted to humanitarian assistance overseas when the EU cant manage humanitarian crisis at home & an EU country reacts with tear gas against civilians mobilizing for their own protection

Although I am always a bit cautious of irony being used to shed a light on human rights issues, I really enjoyed this video by . Prob because it did not let the joke play too long and it focused on the nitty gritty of what a refugee camp actually looks like. 👏

Of the contradictions of smuggling v trafficking: women who are forced to have sex with smugglers to pass borders are not considered victims of and can be considered criminals if caught. 1 more reason why laws on the sex trade, migration and trafficking cant be disconnected

I cannot believe people in prostitution are considered to be some kind of "perk" for prisoners and that an Australian judge ruled a criminal could be released with "conditional access to sex workers", which ended up getting the 22 yr old Marylène Levesque murdered 🤬🤬

by is an anti campaign done right - focusing on holding perpetrators accountable instead of presenting pure, innocent and almost always white victims through sensationalist imagery for shock value.

A great but very worrying article by about male violence among “The biggest danger to me in Turkey is the same Afghans I was running away from have come here" - - more reasons to have gender sensitive asylum policies

Like "child bride", "child prostitute" is just a euphemism for sexual abuse of children.

Its so important to participate in local grassroots feminist groups. do amazing work, but a lot of feminist consciousness raising is done by small, informal collectives-like in the 60s/70s. Specially if u wanna engage young women, dont dismiss them
