Lastly, one of Burny’s favorite characters to work on was Winnie the Pooh. His first assignment as a key animator was on “Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too” and his connection to the character lasted throughout the years, including these pieces he created for 2011’s Winnie the Pooh.

After seeing a Disneyland Records Christmas album, Burny was inspired to create “Mickey’s Christmas Carol,” which he directed and produced. The cherished holiday classic was Mickey Mouse’s return to the silver screen after 30 years.

One of the earliest films Burny contributed to was 1959’s Sleeping Beauty. Working under Marc Davis, Burny recalled that this scene, known as Sequence 8, Scene 31 required so much time that once it was complete, Marc arranged a cake to be baked for Burny saying “Happy 31.”
