So what are we saying? Are the only roles for trans-gender men or women are of trans-gender men or women? If a role is for a female lead, shouldn't all who self assign as "female" be able to read for the role? Where is this going?

This is all well and good, but would you rather have a VERY well-known name attached to the movie and bring awareness to the issue, or have some unheard of actor take on the role and risk the movie doing horribly and never seeing the light of day?
