The NHS just can't keep running like this, the amount of money I'm costing by going through all the pills and all the appointments could have already paid for the psychiatrist and the EMDR treatment and then probably would be fine after that. I'm bored of playing the game

Not all 20 something's just have anxiety and depression - some do, but some of us have different symptoms and causes and so they should be diagnosed and treated accordingly rather than swept under the rug. And no, mental health should not be treated the same as physical health

I'm assuming you aren't able to self refer in your area? I know you can't everywhere. I self referred to my local nhs IAPT and was approved for emdr. It took months and several assessment apts but I start today.

Oooh good luck! I've already been rejected from tier 2 and I don't think I can self refer :(

I wonder sometimes if I have a different diagnosis than just depression and anxiety. But like, those "extras" are not particularly clear cut or dramatic. I just have a hard time finding a treatment that works long term.

Tbh it's hard to know and I find it hard to not blame myself for not responding to treatment because it is brain based
. Do you think it would help you if you knew if it was something more than anxiety and depression?
