Ok NC Dept of Ed, (@DrJuneAtkinson), if 4th grader aces BOG, all Benchmarks & has A's in AIG classes, what's the exit mechanism for EOG?

@DrJuneAtkinson I assume there's a mechanism to except from EOG, since in this case it's a waste of admin resources & student learning time.

@DirkNC EOGs required by state & federal law to take a snapshot of how schools are preparing students. EOGs are not part of student's grade

@DrJuneAtkinson Thx, appreciate response. Unfortunate when kids are guinea pigs for school eval. Should grant EOG=5, let him go to library.

@leslielam @DrJuneAtkinson I'd agree with this - kids feel a LOT of pressure to do well. Is there penalty for pulling kids during tests?

@leslielam @DirkNC End of course tests count as part of student grade. End of grade tests (EOGs) do not count, unless school opts to do so

@leslielam @DrJuneAtkinson To be fair, when was the last time the state legislators that mandated this proctored might be a better question.

@LadyLiberty1885 Very helpful, thx. I struggle w/ opting out, since my kid will pull up average and it's not fair to teacher if I pull him.

@LadyLiberty1885 Very true. At this point any & all state/fed testing is bad - NCGA/DPI meddling only breaks it further. Let teachers teach.

@LadyLiberty1885 Been thinking - can't opt out of EOGs, but why not rig the data? If school $ is based EOG-BOG, why not fail the BOG?
