Sadly doesn't mark Møller & de Lope's 1998 Oikos paper as "Retracted Paper". It is cited 19x since its retraction in 2001. To help avoid this can clearly mark PDFs of retracted papers as "RETRACTED" (like does)?

This tale from another era exemplifies why mandatory data archiving and advances in statistical analyses represent important tools for forcefully investigate misconduct. Had the data all been on Dryad, the Møller case might have developed very differently

JTB just sacked an editor for making authors add citations to his papers. Same editor documented as making authors add ≈30 citations to his papers at Bionformatics! Yes, 30 citations per paper. "Reviewer-coerced citation"

There is much I have learned over the past few months (!), both personally and scientifically, both good and bad: About data forensics, open data and even Excel 🙄, and I got to know some great new colleagues along the way.

A comment on blog: we ( and others) started our investigations after being alerted by a junior scientist with inside information. I am most grateful to this . This anonymous scientist deserves our thanks and gratitude

The study of personality has nothing to do with scientific misconduct. Let's not exploit this sad situation that is so stressful for those affected
