voting 1 Labor tells them that you like them moving further to the right. Voting 1 green and 2 Labor has a dual effect, it lets Labor know u want them to stop giving tax cuts to the wealthy, open more coal mines etc AND if Greens don't win it goes to Labor at full value anyway

Great thread on what foreign aid in a climate changed world really looks like (hint. Its not pretty)

I still don’t think people understand what it means for 33 million people to be displaced. That’s 6 times more people than those internally displaced in Ukraine from war, that’s roughly 90% of the population of Canada. That’s how many people are internally homeless right now

The Project is dragging itself further in the dirt each time Steve Price appears. Price should never get any air time on a show that suggests that it is contemporary, good faith and considerate. The other panelists should also take a stand and refuse to work with him.

Unprecedented heatwaves, floods, & drought are destroying lives around the world. Yet, according to the  & , fossil fuel subsidies from major economies nearly DOUBLED last year, reaching their second-highest levels in 7 years. These subsidies are reckless and immoral.

I want to tell a story. When I was in like 3rd grade, I went with my mom while she dropped some drugs off (yes, she was). Anyways. She left me in the car. This guys comes out to “watch” me and it’s just me and him. He looks over and asks. “You don’t know what a haiku is, do you?”

Let's be clear: the Pakistani people did not do this to Pakistan –– we all did, and the high-emitting nations are most responsible. Unless we end our species' addiction to fossil fuels, every country in the world will remain in the crosshairs of the climate breakdown.

It is frankly terrifying that one third of Pakistan is underwater, China is experiencing its worst drought in record, as are the olive-producing regions of southern Spain, and we’re currently only at 1.2C of warming.

50 Million!! That’s more than the Ukraine population. The world sent $billions in aid to Ukraine. Let’s see how much Pakistan gets
Quote Tweet
Imagine if this was a white nation where 50 MILLION PEOPLE were affected and 1/3 of their entire country was under water. How much international aid do you think would be flooding in the country? How much news coverage would this have? Staunch RACISM

Exactly. Poverty is a policy choice.. and now it's a choice made by Labor.
Quote Tweet
Pretty fucked up that he explicitly says people can't live on $40 a day, and now that he has the big boy pants he's not going to do anything about it. Could even describe it as evil. twitter.com/AlboMP/status/…

Labor's Stage 3 tax cuts will give as much to the richest 1% as to the poorest two thirds (65%) combined. These tax cuts will turbocharge economic & gender inequality - stripping $244 billion from the budget that should go into public services. They must be scrapped.

Labor is pathetic.

PM Anthony Albanese at #npc, asked about the controversial stage 3 tax cuts: “we made a decision that we would stand by that legislation rather than re-litigate it… We inherited it. And I said that we haven't changed our position”

#EmmettTill was brutalized, dehumanized, and murdered 67 years ago today. This heinously racist lynching was in response to a lie. But even if it had been true, Emmett should still be here. There’s no justification. The work for justice continues. Emmett would be 81.

Labor: we care about the climate Also Labor: let’s open up vast new areas to extract more fossil fuel There is zero justification or rationalisation for this. Our democratic systems are incapable of dealing with the climate crisis. It’s time to rebuild them from the ground up.
Quote Tweet
BREAKING: The Labor government has just released 46,758 square kilometres of new ocean acreages for oil and gas exploration. Labor likes to talk big on climate, but when it really matters they’ll do exactly what their fossil fuel donors demand.
