Plus, if you worked 10, 20 years and also have government pension whether it be city, county, state or Federal pension, they reduce your social security you earned by half! So the government punished you for working a government job!!

It was when it started .....but it isn’t now as the government gives it to people who never contributed to it and robbed for some spending money if they had borrowed it they would have put the money back by now.
