Today, I’m taking a baby step into new territory. I made a ko-fi account, which basically lets people tip you the cost of coffee for sharing your art. I’ve ALWAYS been uncomfortable promoting my art, but this feels like a safer step. AND they use Stripe!

I can’t believe it was BoJack Horseman that kept me up long enough to smooth something over before this India research trip.

10 things about the borders, bridges & tunnels of the Trump peace plan "No other state in the world looks so gerrymandered...a state without an airport or real ports, & one that is inside another state – whose borders are basically controlled by Israel.”

Just watched Parasite and while it had good storytelling and cinematography, why haven’t I heard a thing about the cultural appropriation in the film? I wish I had known prior to going in. I’m sure other films he’s done were great, why is it that this one gets critical acclaim?

On this suddenly terrifying night, I find myself thinking of this epigraph in Solmaz Sharif’s Look (2016), quoted from Muriel Rukeyser’s The Life of Poetry (1949).

Great piece on the 2010s as a decade of—successful—protest. Worth adding that outside the US, in 2019 alone, popular protest movements toppled governments in Lebanon, Algeria, and Sudan.

"Stop them, Stop them" A Palestinian woman screaming in front of her house, demolished by Israeli occupation forces in Al-Isawiya neighberhood of Jerusalem yesterday. U.S. funding to Israel supports this cruelty. And yes demolitions are war crimes. Video: IG @Humanity4Palestine

There's been some debate over whether algorithms—which are created by people—can have racial or gender bias. The answer is yes, yes they can. And there are massive consequences that come with it. Here's how:

This is not a thing that is possible. You can't extricate money from the equation and treat it as though it existed in a vacuum. This shit effects real people, it's not a thought experiment
