BAM! Inspiring story of how the new ADA CEO Tracey Brown recognized the impact of carbohydrates and avoids them. In the interview she reports she has gotten off insulin and is nearly off of all medications and encourages others that they can do it too.

Very well 😊 — now that I follow a very diet. Staying under 20 total carbs per day keeps my standard deviation at 11 and a current A1c of 4.8

Reading comments from hundreds of who have improved their health and lives with steady, consistent, normal blood glucose numbers using a very diet makes my day. 😍 Nearly every one of them mentions the mental health improvements as well - incredible !!!

Definitely not. You could eat straight sugar all day at half your maintenance calories and steadily lose fat without entering significant ketosis. Alternatively, you could massively overeat fat on a zero carb diet and literally gain fat while being in ketosis at all times.

Yes definitely. I was a vegetarian forever, then low carb (Atkins-ish), then jumped on the higher fat train until more reseach and clinical experience brought me to where I am currently. Not afraid to say I was wrong at any point (including now if future research is enlightening)

They tell you children's cereal can be part of a "balanced" diet when there's an obesity epidemic and diabetes has quintupled since 1980.
