.@TeamYouTube This has become a very common issue and I think we the creators deserve an explanation at the very least. When one gets a DMCA copyright strike, they have the legal right to file a counter-notification, and the striked content will go back up after 10 days. However, https://twitter.com/NotActive398203/status/1163999187031252998 …pic.twitter.com/IsR9TXU3o0

YouTube has recently been rejecting a lot of counter-notifications altogether, even though they have a legal obligation to honor them. This leaves people who receive false strikes, or who want to use the fair use defence, with no option to defend themselves. @TeamYouTube

sadly we're ina position where YouTube refuses to consider fair use (which is a legal requirement when rejecting a counter notification). They see no legal ramifications from the creator and make boatloads off of large corporations tohugh so whay would they want to?...

... Protecting the creators isn't worth the monetary effort to them, where bending over to large corporations (#FuckYouUMG #FuckYouSONY) is worth way more. If they were to see a giant net loss, say, a massive class action lawsuit, however... that would possibly work....

... All companies are scared shitless of losing buckets of money in a lawsuit. youtube is no exception. If only someone with the legal and monetary power was able to file a powerful enough suit and include us in it... that would force their hand with near;y no effort needed.
