Apparently I sang "Hooked on a feeling" so good in the intro to my Ape Out video that it got copyright claimed. Where's my Grammy?pic.twitter.com/VMy8kD3lFy

Because there’s a set of copyrights to protect the writers of songs for the lyrics/melody that they've created, you can receive a claim if you sing a song a cappella (regardless of the quality of your vocals--although, tbh, we were impressed). More info: http://goo.gl/ESkbsb
Come on now. PROTECT

CREATORS
Not youtubes fault copyright laws are alot more then just link of song etc in bio. When it comes to music, producer, performers and song writers all have rights to there work...
No. This is a very clear case of fair use and an abuse of the copyright system by the music label.
i dont get how it is fair use? its 22 seconds of the exact song pretty close to the original. no changes made, no credits given, nothing reviewed or done to make it fair use. I can see this being stolen rights. Do i think its unnecessary yes of course are they in the wrong nope
Keep in mind that an entire video gets claimed for a song and it doesn’t have to be 20 seconds of it, it can be as low as 4 or 5. So low that it’s hard to see what you even did wrong, especially those times where they don’t tell you where it is or the title of the song.
Also just wondering bc I haven’t heard about this one yet, does the creator of the copyrighted work for which a video gets claimed get any revenue when a company claims a video?
