This is just one contribution made in advance of the Nov. election. I'll take a look at more as the current legislative session continues. These fine people deserve recognition.

Reed Hastings gave the PAC $700K. He lives in Santa Cruz, CA, and is co-founder of Netflix. He also likes charter schools.

So where did the PAC's money come from? Just two contributors, per campaign finance reports -- John Arnold and Reed Hastings.

Christel House received $2.24 million in PPP funds last April, by the way. That's in addition to its regular state funding, which was unaffected by COVID.

Christel House, the public charter schools founded by the late Christel DeHaan, is a favorite of Indiana's school choice supporters. You might remember it from stories about changing school letter grades.

Who are the fine people behind this PAC? Its annual campaign finance report is filed by former Indpls. mayor Bart Peterson. He's now president/CEO of Christel House International.

Hmmm: DeSantis' new budget defunds Schools of Hope and Academica wants out of Jefferson, the poster child for Schools of Hope (which qualified Academica as a "hope operator"). Is this a pause? Or another failed takeover of public schools?
