I can report Suga is not at tonight’s Clippers game, which is a bummer because the Yoongi Marry Me signs are on point tonight!
It’s been too long since I’ve tweeted about BTS and this Jimin video made me super happy. That’s it! I just love this video!

I kept thinking there would be a “good time” to announce this, but that “good time” never came. So here goes: Last week, I gave my two-weeks notice at Deadspin.
I wrote about what it was like for me to go to my first live BTS concert!
For best things we heard this year, I picked j-hope’s “More” (plus his entire Lollapalooza performance). I loved all the solo efforts of the BTS members this year, but Hobi went first, Hobi went big and he genuinely shocked me in the most amazing ways.

Full disclosure: Mr. Diana made this to make me laugh because I was in a crabby mood this morning. But now I feel better and he said that I could share it!
Programming note: My Kinja access has been revoked. I apologize for any and all spelling and grammar errors, as I cannot fix them. From here on out, all content published on Deadspin is not us. I hope we sent out Deadspin right. We did our best.
Gonna spend all weekend manifesting the Cardi B x Jimin collaboration. 🕯️🕯️🕯️

This was the year I completely and shamelessly fell for BTS, and it was easily one of my better decisions. So I wrote about it for our year-end wrap up of what we listened to.

This is probably Ben Roethlisberger's last NFL game. A lot has been written about his legacy as a QB. I wrote about the 2009 sexual assault lawsuit and the 2010 sexual assault investigation -- and how those also are an important part of his legacy.
Trying to think of some tweet that isn’t just, “Wow. That was amazing. God bless and protect Park Jimin.” But that’s all I’ve got.

I was asking myself “how will BTS surprise us with Dynamite?” and never once thought “they’ll make Jungkook the drummer.” So I am now screaming ahhhh!!! drummer Jungkook!!! at my husband and cat.

Seeing talk about Ken Starr that doesn't mention the Baylor sexual assault scandal. So let's catch up on it!
Starr was president when former football player Sam Ukwuachu's trial got reporters probing Baylor's history of making life hell for women who reported sexual assault.
A glance at the football landscape might convince you that nothing happened at Ohio State in 2018. But that couldn't be further from the truth. This is Courtney Smith's story.

I mean, Jimin is very sexy. On that point, she is not wrong.
I wrote about the end of Ben Roethlisberger's career and the parts that so many pieces about him gloss over -- the 2009 sexual assault lawsuit and the 2010 sexual assault investigation, which included a cop who took pics with the QB that night.
I wrote a very sappy goodbye post. In some ways, it feel like the least-Deadspinny thing I could do. But it felt right.
I ended up working the Sunday before my birthday, so I told myself I would write about at least one thing that made me happy. So I wrote about BTS and Bang Bang Con 2021.

I have a feeling folks are about to find out how deeply pro sports leagues and teams (owned by billionaires) rely on temporary/seasonal employees who live paycheck to paycheck and don’t have PTO or healthcare.
I know because I once was one of them.
Here’s a recap.
Did the Steelers just draft a guy who said he looks up to Megan Rapinoe? Yes. Yes they did.
All I know is the man on my TV says that Ayumu Hirano just got absolutely robbed by the snowboarding judges and he has convinced me that this is correct.

I'm happy for Sarah Fuller. But it's important to remember that this is only happening because the team's ranks were ravaged by COVID-19, in a sport where the workers remain unpaid and exploited.

Today in BTS news I foist upon my spouse: Me shoving my phone in his face and going “Breaking news! Jungkook is blond now!”
I have some sad news. Ms. Katharine Graham, interrupter of phone interviews, guardian against insects, and my work from home supervisor, has left us at age 14. She was my rock and loved to remind me I work too much (on journalism, I could never work too hard at feeding her).
Today was the day some people remembered the Baylor sexual assault scandal happened while Ken Starr was president.
But what I've seen so far left out something really key: The steps Baylor leadership intentionally took to keep facts, names and documents out of the public eye.

Also, I swear, I can write funny things. Like all those NBA blogs I wrote when the news broke after midnight on the East Coast. This one is a personal fave:
As much as I love BTS choreo -- and I freaking love BTS choreo -- I don't know if anything is as soothing as all the members just strutting around like the gorgeous human beings they are.

I see a lot of talk about Deshaun Watson and settlements, "transparency," the various investigations/lawsuits (NFL + civil lawsuits + police) that leave out a really key detail -- it is EXTREMELY disadvantageous for any non-player to cooperate with an NFL investigation.

A reminder to everyone covering the possible team name change in Washington. You can stop using that slur now. No need to wait.
You don't ask City Hall how to cover City Hall -- so why let Dan Snyder and the NFL set the rules for how to cover this.

Using the R-word in your coverage, just like not using it, is a choice. By normalizing the slur's usage, the media does Dan Snyder's dirty work for him. It's time to hold the industry—including myself and TNR—accountable. Stop Printing the R-Word: newrepublic.com/article/158250

Two out of three of these steps -- start a social justice coalition and air some PSAs -- are straight out of the NFL PR playbook and were done after Black players protested.
I suppose the NBA could do them *better* but I think knowing the origin of those two is really valuable.

Paying athletes doesn't mean taking away women's sports. It just means not paying coaches (and ADs) millions.
