Video games are used as an escape, while I agree they can lead to unhealthy habits of all sorts, calling them a waste of time for most people is incredibly arrogant lol

Well yah ... He is not wrong. Playing gamed is a way to escape reality and burn time. But I understand what he means there is more productive things to do with that time if you so desired. Makes me wonder what i might have become if not for all the time in games.

I mean that goes for anything, really. Sports, watching Netflix, cooking, you name it. And benefits from video games do exist, particularly cognitive effects, that supersede those from other activities. Unless you’re really addicted (never met anyone like that) then it’s fine.

I played video games and smoked weed for the better part of my life and I own multiple successful businesses. Video games are a hobby that actually provide a living IF you want to take it there and have the skill and ability.

I literally made over $200 in my last two 3 hour streams. That is $33.33 an hour. Waste of time? Don't get you anywhere? Hmm... seems like my "waste of time" just paid my gas and electric bill next month.

how many of people who stream on twitch or who actually game 10h per day earn any money? Taking single cases to prove a point doesn't really work. Either way, good for you but most of others aren't so lucky.
