Some YouTuber apparently used a script to break into my 8-year old nephew's Minecraft server, and proceeded to destroy his work as he sat there crying, begging him to stop. I don't understand how someone could enjoy making content like that.

My brother woke up to hearing him crying over voice chat and my nephew didn't know how to remove people. The server was invite only, so it absolutely crushed my nephew. He spent so much time on it too. I'm quite angry.

Tell your nephew building always beats destroying and he will make it far if he continues to build stuff.
On the technical side, consider not to put that server on the public Internet. I have some more practical hints if you like --> DM. -
It was a peer to peer, invite only server over PSN. My brother works in the game industry as well so he's actually in talks with some higher ups as it shouldn't have been possible for someone to gain access as it's why he doesn't play it on PC.
