Allowing Dark Elixir to upgrade Walls would be devastating to the game economy because of how rare DE already is. Allowing it to be used for Walls would reduce its availability even further, making it impossible to farm.

Yes but once for a week many like me who have gold pass plus are in legends have so many extra de 490k ... Plus it's an optional people can be given an option to use de along with elixir or gold as usual...
