Looks a lot like a Charleston Chew, and that's delicious frozen or over ice cream too. I've never seen nor heard of a Violet Crumble in NY.
It’s almost like a crispy honeycomb candy. It’s hard to find stateside though if you have a UK goods store you can find them there. I’ve found it at international stores like Cost Plus etc.

There may be one in Manhattan though I don't often go to the city being on Staten Island. I forget its name but aware there's a candy shop in Manhattan for some 25 yrs. +/- that carries every single hard to find bars like Clark, 100 Grand, etc. with a shot of international candy.
