Cable connections can go wrong in subtle ways, but a new SATA cable should have pretty low odds of that. As for fans, I’d recommend basic things like unplugging and replugging them. It’s really easy to skip.
Or I'm just an idiot and forgot to create a new partition for the secondary drive. I also need a SATA to 4 pin fan cable. 3 of the case fans need one.

Ahh, that’s an easy mistake to make. If it makes you feel any better, I’ve literally managed to forget how to find disks that didn’t have partitions or file systems on them in Linux. That was likely an expensive memory fail, given my exam score following.

My second ram stick is running at 2933 MHz instead of 3200. so the system is defaulting to 2333MHz. That's annoying. Gonna have to fiddle with the OC settings in the bios.
