Basically, the Vega 64 has a OC speed of around 1500mhz, a 1080 has a max clock of about 1700mhz. - I've loved AMD for years and Ryzen kicks ass, but for the moment they make better CPUs than they do GPUs.
I was planning on getting a Ryzen CPU already. Assuming about a $2-3k budget, any recommendations as far as mobo, liquid cooling, RAM? Is 32GB more than enough these days?

Yeah, as far as Ryzen go they're pretty badass for the price, have a 1700 @ 5ghz on air. Board is an x370 Asus Strix because I had a dual card setup, but nowadays Crossfire/SLI is dead, but still got it for the option. Had 2x 280s, planning on a 1070/1080 as soon as the 20xx drop

32GB is definitely what I'm planning for. Have 2x8gb(16gb) @ 3200mhz Tridentz with 2 more slots available on the board, but at nearly $200 per 16gb is pretty brutal, at least for me, right now.
