New thread of "contacting a fund/publisher" tips. 1. Please don't ask if I'd like to try a build. The answer is always yes, love to, just include a link in your first email. Otherwise we have to email each other another 2 times, and every email you sent chips away at your soul.

2. If you're contacting a publisher or a fund, and you want money, please include that you want money, and even better, how much money you want. Again, avoid having to answer again and becoming a slave to your inbox.

3. I will answer every email, eventually. I'm not sure about anyone else. My general rule is that if I'm emailing someone and they haven't answered in a week, it's OK for me to send a follow up. Less than a week and it seems kinda rude UNLESS you absolutely need to know.

4. It's taken me 14 emails about games before I have one that contains the budget, a build, a video, and some info about the game. Please just throw everything into your email, often people are in "clear out emails mode" and so having everything there means I can track it!

5. I often see pitches with so much info about the game, but none about the business side. What budget is the game, not only what budget do you want from the publisher? What are your plans for PR, marketing? Will you hit all platforms at once? Not required but so helpful.

6. Someone mentioned why not just use a form... and most funds/publishers do! But they also have people to contact directly. I don't mind either to be honest, but a direct email at least lets me have a conversation easier, and know who to contact etc.
