In 2018, workers from ‘Ian Williams’ from Wales began fire safety “improvements” starting with scaffolding being erected & removal of the #cladding
To this day, we have been living on a building site. Noise, dust, no privacy. Still no new cladding.
But much worse...

Without the insulation provided by the cladding, our homes are cold, damp, with black mould. Our belongings & furniture ruined. Our health suffering. Our heating bills off the scale - typically £400/monthpic.twitter.com/qUDhXds5it

Not only is there mould & damp, there are leaks. Leaks via the outside walls from the elements. Internal leaks from poorly installed pipe work. Water is getting into plug sockets & light fittings. But worse...pic.twitter.com/YFpPq7efcP

1 resident came home from hospital after having given birth & faced 2 leaks bad enough to require the
@LondonFBU to pump out water from the flat. Then 3 days of SEWAGE coming up through the bath & toilet >>>pic.twitter.com/n6hPvh1sHrShow this thread -

Emergency out of hours numbers are rarely answered. Emergency response times are slow. Fixing the problem so that it doesn’t recur, seemingly impossible.pic.twitter.com/eYGuA2S03L

New fire doors have been installed, but residents fear for their safety as they’re faulty & they keep getting locked in. The fire alarms are faulty too, regularly going off in error - causing alarm & traumapic.twitter.com/O0lOIacHfS

New windows are being fitted, as with every other job this has been done poorly, left incomplete. Gaps round the edges, rubble left on beds. This one popped loose in the wind >>pic.twitter.com/N5ZEQeTyDK

New boilers which have been installed have caused a number of problems - leaks of scalding water. A breakdown on Boxing Day, no one available to fix it until the 4th Jan.pic.twitter.com/fEC8G0HGg4

The site manager, resident liaison, housing officer - none seem to listen to our concerns or follow up on the issues we raise. We are just dismissed/ignored. The Royal Mail forbid postal workers to enter for H&S reasons for 2 weeks before Xmas. We lived here all the while.

We wrote to Geeta Nanda, the CEO of Metropolitan Housing Association to come meet with us, to hear our urgent & serious concerns for our safety. Someone else replied on her behalf to say she couldn’t come.pic.twitter.com/q5WRfFmKLL

Please help us by giving us a voice. Please share this thread far & wide. We are living in dangerous & unsafe accommodation, not fit for human habitation. We need
@MetTVH to take urgent action for our safety. Please put what pressure you can on them to act. Thank you.Show this thread
