Trump stated emphatically that he would own the government shutdown. Then he didn't. He lied. Trump claimed over and over that he would make mexico pay for the wall. Then he didnt. He lied.
Some Democrats in Congress refusing to vote for border security funding that they've voted for in the past. Instead, Nancy Pelosi shuts down fed agencies. Republicans are focused on national security and running efficient, effective gov't. Extreme left appears to want neither.
