    On a happier note: We’re less than 3 weeks away from the start of ! I love this Slam because it’s always littered with *big* upsets—even ones that enrage me. Really hope both Williams sisters will be in the draw, along with most heavy hitters from the men’s side.

    The narrative, afterwards? “I feared for my life.” Any attempt at finding answers, some type of accountability, was stonewalled. Had to accept it wouldn’t happen. After a certain point, I decided to move on and heal. Reading/seeing other stories means exercising self-care.

    😞 Sadly this story hits home for me. I was held at gunpoint by an off-duty cop some years ago. I’d done nothing wrong. But a bystander intervened. I escaped w/ my life. For a year, I took the long way to avoid the location. 18 months later, I finally returned.

    Incidents w/ similarities to can traumatize those who live through them. Here’s one Chicagoan’s story: At 16, he and his father were held at gunpoint by an off-duty CPD officer. The cop got suspended for 5 days; served them 11 years later.

    This (the video, not the person who tweeted it) is wrong: 1) RICH is more than money: health is wealth, so take yo ass to sleep. 2) POOR people work don’t sleep either: the way capitalism is set up, poor people can work more hours than rich people and still be broke.
