  1. Low pressure developing over the Atlantic will move towards us tomorrow bringing another dose of wet and windy weather. Some heavy rain, especially on high ground in the south and west with fresh to strong winds.⚠️🌧️

  7. 14C in Trawsgoed today. Average is 8.7C. A cold front will bring a little rain tomorrow followed by drier, brighter weather. Colder Thursday w/ sunny spells and a few showers. A cold start on Friday with a widespread frost then fine & settled for a while. Not so nice on Saturday!

  8. Today started dry with a stunning sunrise in Coedpoeth. A warm front is now bringing cloud with patchy light rain, drizzle and mist. Turning milder. Staying mild over the next couple of days. Thursday colder and breezy with sunshine and a few showers. Fine and settled on Friday.

  14. Saturday will start cold and dry but turning milder with fresh to strong winds. Rain & drizzle on the way too. Sunday starts wet but turning brighter with blustery showers and a drier end to the day. Breezy in Dublin tomorrow and turning damp with a high of 9°C.

  17. Some of you may remember Clive Mills-Hicks who presented the weather on in 1997. Sadly he passed away last Christmas and I thought I'd share this interesting article he wrote about how the weather can effect sport including tennis.

  18. Tomorrow Feb 2 is Candlemas Day and there's an old rhyme: "If Candlemas Day be fair and bright, winter will have another fight, but if Candlemas Day be clouds and rain, winter is gone and will not come again!" Tomorrow largely dry and mild. No sign yet of proper winter weather.

  19. Today turned out better than expected. NE enjoyed the best of the sunshine & very mild. 14C in Hawarden. Lenticular clouds were spotted in Wrexham. Caused by strong winds flowing over the mountains. These clouds can sometimes be mistaken for UFOs!

  20. January was the driest in since 2006 with 69mm of rain, 45% of the monthly average (155mm) It was a little milder than normal with a mean temperature of 4.9C England enjoyed its sunniest January since records began in 1919! In Wales January was the sunniest since 2011.
