Decided to release my Universal Dreamcast Patcher to the world! It's not yet perfect, but it definitely delivers on its core features. Check out the README for details.
I wrote a piece for this gaming zine, Aporia Vol. 2, about the fan translation of Nakoruru: The Gift She Gave Me for #Dreamcast that I have been working on with
By the way, it's itch's Creator Day! Also, the second issue of my collaborative gaming zine, Aporia, is now out!! https://moonworks.itch.io/aporia-vol-2 Please enjoy! The price is a bit higher because it had to be professionally printed (please mind the description), but it came out well!
This has been a Sega house since time immemorial… But a break in my silly, age-old stubbornness has brought this beauty to Casa Pascarella.
Time to make up for the last couple decades or so! Having neglected it for years, my mother gave my SNES to Goodwill long, long ago.
W'hoo! Awesome work, Artemio and Dasutin🙂
For those needing to build a .neo file, use the NeoBuilder CLI as follows:
NeoBuilder.exe -n "240P TEST SUITE" -m "ARTEMIO AND DASUTIN" -y 2023 -g 0 C:\path\to\240pTestSuite-NeoGeo-MVS_AES_095.zip
Discovered today that Capcom’s CPA-001 adapter coupled with any Mega Drive-compatible receiver makes for a great wireless controller solution on the FM Towns Marty! Only downside is the insane cost/rarity of this adapter.
However, as seen in the video, all buttons get mapped.
"Nakoruru: The Gift She Gave Me" for the SEGA Dreamcast has, at long last, entered the final playtest phase.
I'm so excited, and I know I speak for my entire team when I say we can't wait for others to have the opportunity to play this beautiful game!
Stay tuned... 😎
Well, here it is... v0.9 of my English translation patch for the eroge fighting game "Metal & Lace" on the FM Towns/Towns Marty.
This is the first non-Dreamcast patch I've developed, and it was a lot of fun! The Towns has definitely charmed me.

I’m in Manhattan’s Little Italy somewhat often, and every now and then I like to snap a photo of these two historic shops that made an appearance in my favorite game of all time: #Policenauts🙂
My first foray into the world of FM Towns. This pristine Marty just arrived today, and I was finally able to test my very, VERY early proof-of-concept English translation patch for "Ningyou Tsukai" (aka "Metal & Lace").
No promises, but this sure is fun!
💵🔥🙃
In all seriousness, this is awesome. Fixel’s post-sales support is beyond superb, and the thought of him offering a wide variety of ODEs for different consoles is incredible.
I'm happy to announce DMC88 (Delorean) interest survey. Based on successful #FZ1#3DO#ODE this is ODE for #FMTowns Marty console. Simple plug and play solution for your console.

Very interesting! Translated from Chinese, screenshot below shows latest entry to changelog. I have more questions than answers, but *I do* know that SAROO emulates the entire Saturn CD block.
Our #Kickstarter page was accepted!
It's going live in April, so click the link and hit "Notify Me" if you want a reminder :)

New English translation alert! Today, @Shark_Snack has released a demo for their translation of "Shiren the Wanderer Gaiden: Asuka Kenzan", a #Dreamcast roguelike RPG. This demo allows players to experience the game's first region. More info on the blog: https://thedreamcastjunkyard.co.uk/2023/02/english-translation-demo-of-shiren.html…
On the latest Editor's Corner, SHIROs @SegaSaturnDave and @traynoco discuss their experiences with the SEGA Dreamcast. From launch up to current day, hear how these two are still casting the dream 20+ years later:

Any interest in a Saturn #BlueRetro adapter? I'm in the design phase of making one to support the new #8bitdo DIY Saturn drop in PCB as well as @GamingNJncos awesome Bluetooth 3D Pad circuit.
A first-ever for me:
Adding a VMU icon (and displaying it) to Dreamcast software that previously didn't bother implementing one. The Bonus Disc that'll ship with the "Nakoruru" trans. patch is based on the Dream Passport web browser.
A blank VMU staring back at me felt so wrong!
Super exciting to see him working on this. If you’re interested in helping the translation for tokimeki memorial, let us know. Currently he’s using machine translation for testing purposes and could use a real translator
Ever wondered what goes into assembly hacking a Dreamcast game? In an effort to share knowledge and (maybe?) entertain, I've recorded a tutorial/demo outlining exactly that!

Regarding CD-ROM format:
What is more concerning than disc rot is memory. I'm talking specifically in older MSX cartridges and EEPROM in arcade boards. These are a larger concern as a whole compared to CDs and disc rot.
Disc rot is a thing. It shouldn't be ignored..however
@SegaSaturnDave, words (and pictures) cannot do justice in conveying just how beautiful this Grandia reproduction is! It’ll forever remain a treasured piece of my “alternate Saturn reality” collection
From the bottom of my SEGA-loving heart, thank you.
Haha…
Cancelation felt good. They can charge users as they see fit, but they no longer hold a streaming monopoly. Inevitably some will find it worth paying for, but they don’t produce nearly enough decent stuff for me to sign up independently of my age-old shared family account.
Hope everyone is having a great Sunday (even the trolls haha)! Back to work for me.
Got 720p -> 1440p working (yes you can even apply the smoothing)
Also got composite/s-video optimal timings back, plus tools to better define custom modes for odd systems like this PC-FX :)
Just wanted to spread the word on this new podcast. I feel like PC-FX ownership is in my not-too-distant future, but regardless, I loved the conversation on this debut episode.
There’s just something about the odd and misunderstood successor to NEC’s PC Engine that draws me in.
Hey, #PCFX fans! We just launched our podcast that's all about expanding the retro gaming community's understanding of NEC's successor to the PC Engine, the PC-FX.
Check out the PC-FX Fan Club's introductory episode on YouTube!
