What does this mean for the future of Google Ads certification? Not much. The program never has never been the best test of someone's Google Ads skills. Neither does it prepare for the actual challenges that advertisers face. So it might not take away your job just yet 😅

ChatGPT doesn’t have access to the internet and is only up to date till 2021. That’s a lucky coincidence since Google hasn’t updated its Shopping certification for Performance Max. 12 out of 50 questions were still about Smart Shopping 🙈

What do you consider "on target" for Target ROAS delivery? #ppcchat I'm conducting a large analysis here and want to be fair & reasonable % refers is relative here, not absolute. For example, +/-10% of 500% is 450%-550%, not 490%-510% If "other", please comment. Thank you!

Ecommerce store is running Black Friday sale. Need to use a code, mentioned all over the site. Still, 5-10% of people buy at full price. How common is this?
Lol! Got the perfect slogan for this campaign."Get paid to make money" 🙈

Google Ads is sending emails out to some advertisers offering to pay them $100 in Google Ads credits for enrolling in automatically applied recommendations - don't do it :) seroundtable.com/google-ads-pay via @andr3scabrera @PPCGreg @gregfinn

Anyone have good Shopify app recommendations for Susan?

Is there a good Shopify app for people to create-their-own set of something? My use case: I'm working on a 3-sample candle set, but I'd like folks to be able to pick the scents they want in it. Seems way too complicated to do in Shopify natively.

If you're a customer and haven't checked the plan you're on in a while, have a look. Chances are you're overpaying. I was paying $350/year for a plan that's now only $240/year 😕

After deciding what your ads look like, where your ads appear, how much to charge you for a click, now they can also set the prices for your products... Nice try Google.

This new Ads feature sounds 🌶️ Based on Merchant defined price ranges, Google optimizes discounts for the product by taking into consideration real time signals such as: - Other merchants prices - Price elasticity - Seasonality - Estimated Delivery Day JIT for holidays 🍺

Lesson 3: You NEED repeat purchases. Making the first sale was hard and expensive. And 99% of customers didn't want to buy more posters. Experiments with other product types didn't really take off.

Lesson 2: Relying on paid media for a product with a low AOV (<$50) is HARD. Even with good margins, ads will eat up all the profit. I made $5-$10/profit on most orders (before ads)

Lesson 1: Inherent demand makes things so much easier. Example: selling BBQ accessories vs a fidget spinner No one wakes up thinking that they want to buy a poster today. So YOU have to create that demand, which is expensive. Especially if you're using advertising.

But spending this much time (20h/month) and money without seeing lasting progress was really frustrating. I stopped with my monthly "content" updates and kept running it in the background. It took a few more months to sink in before I realized that this project had failed.

My goal with this project was to have an ecommerce business I could experiment with and share the results openly. (Side goal: make enough money to fund a family trip to see the launch of the first manned mission to Mars)
