I wish Google Maps had a "I'm walking home by myself at night" mode that would show you a way with well lit paths and open spaces. It always seems to take you on narrow, dark pathways in cities

a key difference the original tweet highlighted is marking a safe route show me where I want to go - positive vs negative indicators avoids unintended consequence of negatively tagging/redlining streets while highlighting who has access to resources such as lighted streets
