The problem starts in the Dr's office, there is usefulness in Opioids but we are not handling it correctly. Denying a patient in pain offhandedly is wrong. They just end up on the street where the wrong answers live. Manage the care, counsel the patient, provide the proper dose.
This reported rise in overdose rates is deeply alarming.
