I really hope you also recognize the efforts of staff of long term facilities that are doing everything in their power to keep their residents safe, healthy and engaged during this time.
The lack of planning & strategy to address the needs of Americans working and living in nursing homes and long term care facilities is unacceptable. My father was in a terrible nursing home the last year of his life.. He entered it with partial dementia and within months was catatonic from drugs. Because the law has families assign someone as Health Care liaison, my brother made the decisions and I had no way to stop him.
