I'm proud to be a co-sponsor of the bipartisan Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act of 2019, which was recently signed into law, and will extend benefits to members of our military who served in the territorial waters off the coast of Vietnam and were exposed to Agent Orange.
Members of our #NY19 Veterans Advisory Committee also expressed a need to enhance research on burn pit exposure. I then co-sponsored the Burn Pit Registry Enhancement Act, which has since passed the House, to address health issues veterans suffer from outside of direct combat.
Our veterans deserve the highest quality of care available, including mental health care, that is accessible no matter where they live. I'm committed to helping our #NY19 veterans and will keep listening to their ideas & concerns in order to bring them with me to Washington.
