She was truly incredible. I’m deeply humbled by the opportunity to honor her memory and carry on the work she started after being denied the pursuit of her Ph.D.

Chief Petty Officer Shannon M. Kent, a Pine Plains native, was killed by a suicide bomber in Syria while serving our country.
