Our discussion was led by @enckj. We heard from Michael Hickey about his work to test the water after losing his father to kidney cancer and from Mayor Rob Allen about the amount of work that still needs to be done from our elected officials to ensure our clean drinking water.

That is all true. But we need to balance our quest for clean water with economic development for our community. We need both to survive and prosper. To focus solely on contaminated water in HF and neglect everything else is not good for our economic well-being. We must multitask.

Yes, we need to fix the problem and stop the pollution from happening in the future. But if the world comes to think of HF as another Love Canal, we’re doomed.
