The suicide rate for female Veterans has soared 85% in recent years. Female Vets are nearly 250% more likely to commit suicide than civilian women. We need to help them transition back home and access health services, including mental health.
We must also pass bipartisan legislation like the Deborah Sampson Act to help homeless female veterans, the fastest-growing segment of the homeless veteran population.
We owe the men and women who bravely serve our country a lot - they fight for our freedom and protect us every single day - and they should be strongly supported when they return home.
