The same study found food insecurity was the most common challenge. More than 23% of households struggled to feed their family at some point during the year. 18% said they had trouble paying a family medical bill.

People are being forced to make these choices and our representatives in Washington are talking about cutting funding for SNAP and Medicaid. Folks doing their best to get by and provide for their families only want a hand up, not a handout. We deserve better from our government.
