Yes, now its harder to tell fake channels from real channels! That sure wont increase scams and will create problems, thanks!

Channels that need clear proof of authenticity + meet the criteria will be eligible for verification badges (the new design is also harder to "impersonate"!!). If anyone thinks they received an email in error, please appeal, we'll review all appeals before any changes happen.

I think channels who have been around for 10+ years, have consistently posted videos and link all their socials to their YouTube already proved themselves. They shouldn’t have to again because you guys are to lazy to do your own research.
