Sadly, I agree w your assessment re unlikelihood of conviction. One Q, tho: Did the 45 GOP Senators vote to "terminate proceedings" or to continue debate on constitutionality (i.e., not table the debate)? Maybe splitting hairs, but those seem like different things.

Is the Senate allowed to take secret votes? If retribution from DJT and Q-stituents is influencing a Senator’s vote, why do we need to know how each one voted? It could be overseen by SCOTUS, kept as historical record, and made public years later or never.

We will if we have to. However this doesn’t consider the myriad of other things that can occur w/o a verdict or censorship from office the GOP is dead. It is in the throws of a cardiac arrest and will flatline before 2024. -45 before that via litigation.
