I suppose anything is possible with this president. Maybe the only option Barr has is to reach him via TV, but if that was the case, I'd expect he would have gone on FOX. This looked more like a message to people in the building who might leave if the AG won't stand up for DOJ.

I took Barr’s comments as a warning to Trump. Possibly going on tv as some sort of a final warning that’s been ignored up to this point.
