Jesus...he was trying to honor the victims of this horrific bombing. This WASN’T meant to be a campaign speech. Come on. This is why people hate politics. This was not the time or place to lay out his agenda. Really disappointed in this take. We found the speech inspiring

I agree. Biden's speech wasn't a campaign speech. I do think he wanted to clarify that he's not a racist & strongly supports the rights of blacks. In part this was said to counter the unwarranted criticism he was getting from things he said that were misinterpreted at the debate.
