The first time I was physically attacked by a guy who was enraged that I was not deferential enough/not nearly excited enough about his advances, I was a child. The idea that men/boys are "owed" women/girls is everywhere and it leads to violence and sometimes death.

The idea of a woman or girl as a "prize" you win is everywhere you look. This is where the idea of "rating" women comes in too (how many heterosexual women refer to guys as 7s or 9s or whatever?). A woman who lives up to certain standards of beauty is meant to "increase status."

I remember when the Virginia Tech massacre happened and some, uh, professional pontificators were straight up like, "Girls rejecting the shooter caused this." Blame was subtly or not-so-subtly assigned to women who, the idea goes, have "sexual power" in our society.

I've never understood how they can play both sides. Men are supposedly stronger and smarter and that's why they run companies and countries. But rejection from a woman makes them homicidal maniacs? How can they be that fragile and yet be trusted with leadership and business?

That incel crap requires men who are both insecure and entitled. It is a logically indefensible combination, so it really isn't surprising that they believe other contradictory things.
