Sentencing enhancements don’t work. They are the product of a tough on crime sentencing era that led to our racist system of mass incarceration. These enhancements have torn apart families & communities, all while making us less safe. It’s time we end them.pic.twitter.com/5E5mjwnsbF

@chesaboudin has chosen to not prosecute a rapist, and a hate crime black on Chinese. I am disgusted. The system will never be just to a person whose own parents are convicted murderers. Where is the justice for the victim? -
Gonna need a source on the first, but as for the second incident you mentioned, the restorative justice approach is literally what the victim wanted. The majority of victims don’t even want harsh punishments, so stop acting like you’re speaking for them as some homogenous group.

Not to mention Honduran drug dealers that do laps around my block for the past four years (the same mother fuckers) killing people with crack, fentanyl, heroin etc. Sanctuary cities don’t work. San Francisco is broken and the chief prosecutor is making it worse.

People blaming Chesa for SF’s near-record low violent crime rate when he’s been in office for two months don’t really care about what is effective Compassion is inherently evil to them, even when actually more effective. They don’t care about preventing crime, just punishment.
