@DeityOfReligion "tests it against a project specification" Let me know when you get one that isn't effectively code.3 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

@ContentOfMedia Describe functions in a declarative way, e.g. "Sort in ascending order". Let the NN figure out different ways to do that.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

@DeityOfReligion Ah, so like "order by" in SQL. Every time they've said "specify, don't program," it's just a new programming language.1 reply 2 retweets 2 likes -

@ContentOfMedia But the NN would effectively be a nonhuman programmer, figuring out the best implementation of the project spec on the fly1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@DeityOfReligion Yeah, but the guy writing the spec will become a programmer as he tries to correct the NN into non-insane behavior.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@ContentOfMedia Hopefully no more so than a project manager must provide sensible specifications. But no idea if such a NN would work.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@DeityOfReligion Let me know if you ever get a prototype, but I'm not holding my breath. :-)1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
@ContentOfMedia Agree that probability such an approach would work is... low. Should read actual books about these kind of things.
