Yeah, I do get that. I'm just aware of the possibility that things such as early sexual abuse might lead to women embrace the role as sex object. That *could* lead to findings similar to those reported even though such women might be very worse off.
I don't have access to the paper. Did they measure any outcomes outside of the sexual domain? The abstract made it sound as though their outcome measures focused only on sexual self-schema and psychosexual health.
I also have a tough time understanding how a study with this apparent design could come anywhere close to ruling out "patriarchal oppression" as a cause of some women finding "sexualized attention from men rewarding." Any thoughts on that?
