Insofar as appearance is a proxy for health/genetic fitness, artificial enhancement can be seen as a form of "cheating." Cheater detection/punishment behaviour is triggered in others. This is not limited to women (see Trump's hair). Are you doing similar work with men?

Didn’t need a study to know this. All of my close friends have admitted to cosmetic treatments and seeing a dematologist but only after we have been drinking together for several hours. Actively trying to enhance your appearance is the last taboo.
