Small number of guys who are very "successful" with the rest not getting lucky... Whereas men are less picky?

Yes, the article suggests that other literature doesn't find this. If my memory is correct, I think there are studies saying more women report engaging in sexual activity than men. It might have been about teen virginity. Not sure.
-
This is not the point. If women WANT to have casual sex, they get it far easier than men. Supply and demand.
-
Yes, this. Plus, much of female sexuality is suppressed by perception of others (particularly other women); it can be plausibly suspected that the privacy/solipsism of dating on Tinder allows for more free female sexuality - less room to be judged.

selective sample?

n=1038, not insignificant. A real red pill is that women love sex more than men and can (and will) have tons of it. It's easy for women to find a guy, and when they find a guy they like, they put out.
-
Something tells me you're speaking from theory, not reality. Women are more selective, but that doesn't mean they don't fuck. If you fuck 1% of 1000 instead of 100% of 10, you have the same number of partners while being more selective.
-
ofcourse women fuck, but they are more selective, they want fewer partners than men do, men prefer to have a largr number of partners and women dont, its not just theorerical its reality, studies after studies show women dont prefer casual hookups and a large % of them regret it
-
I'm not arguing the theory. My point is that it manifests itself in real life as women having more sexual partners than men, even when they aren't explicitly looking for casual sex. It easily explains the 172% number.
-
Men always have to strive for sex. Women get it thrown at themselves. Actually, women are busy a large part of the day quashing unwanted sexual advances from men. Which should make clear what men are busy a large part of the day.
-
yeah..you are making a disconnection between the so called theory and reality like its a dichotomy, its not, the theory explains reality
-
My gripe: Your comment makes it seem as if women have fewer sexual partners than men (because they are more selective), but a lower margin on high revenue will, in most cases, lead to greater net than a high margin on low revenue. We probably agree, but like to argue.

I'm intriguied by the mathematics here. Every time a woman beds a man a man beds a woman. These numbers are only mathematically possible if there are more male tinder users than female.
-
Thats because a lot of women are shagging the same one guy...a modern day Genghis khan loll
-
Numbers should still be the same on average. Just with more variation among men
-
yes indeed they should! but it doesn't seem like they do.
-
Could be explained by there being more men than women on tinder. If 60% of tinder users are men we should expect women on tinder to report a higher average number
-
indeed ! in fact, i would expect the % of male users on tinder to be a bit higher than 60% , has tinder ever released that information ?
-
Just got these stats in the replies, men outnumber women on tinder 2 to 1 so we should expect female users to have twice as much sex through tinder than male users on average https://www.statista.com/statistics/607430/tinder-gender-distribution-usa/ …

glad we got to the bottom of this Senor Yeyo :) I do wish adultwork would produce some meta-data on their users , that should be an interesting read
