Probably because gender egalitarianism allow women to express themselves as they are and not to play a part (masculine one) written for them by someone else

True, and women's unreached inclination for cosmetics, fashion ect in egalitarian societies must be an embarrassment for hardcore feminists.

Not clear that measures of gender egalitarianism valid; not clear how gender socialisation measured; not clear how much legal equality affects long-established attitudes; not clear who adheres to Blank Slate. You don't need to adhere to this to question vaguely-defined concepts.

In very general terms, the smallest gender differences - even in a bodily measure, waist to hip ratio - were found in sub-saharan Africa, the largest in the Nordic European countries. That speaks for itself.

What is "gender egalitarianism" and how many generations has it been in effect?
-
No one claimed it is fully in effect. They claimed that the more of it there is, the more different the sexes are. Surely a counter intuitive finding and a challenge to the idea that gender differences result from socialisation rather than biology.

The countries compared here also have high discrepancies ITO socio-economic factors. Could there be more freedom for gender discrepancies with increased wealth/decreased economic stress?

Yes, life is tougher for women in less egalitarian societies. Having less freedom, they are obliged to do more difficult jobs. When they get full freedom, they tend to refuse those jobs (imposed roles). This is empirically proven by quantitative research (one is above here)
