I wonder if ugliness of modern world (ie brutalism, neoliberal blue glass) is due to the introversion of nerd elite? Industrialisation selects for abstract reasoning, so when nerds took over society in the 19th century they started uglying cities to satisfy natural introversion?

Gilded Age architecture was pretty nice though. Nice stuff up until the war too. I dunno what really changed tbh

Silly tangent, but I wonder if there's research on punchable faces... like, do the faces people describe as "punchable" have any common traits, or is it just random?

Social desirability would be my guess, most mediated by physical attractiveness and perceived ingroup/outgroup. Research on that specific question though? I didn't find any at a first attempt. But he did just post a thing on schadenfreude that probably is the same.
