There's a decent literature on these questions that shows the opposite. And many studies with much more robust, cross cultural data (n=300 isn't nearly enough to do a subgroup analysis, comparing believers to non believers).

Generalisation is never that good. But IMHO yes, that might be one reason for benefits. If you’re involved in something (religion, personal goals,whatever), it’s highly probable your motivation and actions will make you feel better

I agree In Christianity the first acts of prayer lead a believer to seek God’s will. This means learning continually thru scripture to love others and particularly the church (community). Thru this process one finds a level of fulfillment Prayer->community Community->prayer
